We raise white Chinese geese. For the geese as is the case with the ducks we hatch a lot of our own eggs but with them we also invest in some hatching eggs from outside sources, though not every year, in order to get some fresh blood into the flock. Our geese has a pen that can be moved easily and they are about the best weed eaters you can get.

The White Chinese goose can be found on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy list on the watch list.
White Chinese Goose: The White Chinese Goose comes from China (imagine that) and is sometimes called the swan goose because they were developed from the Wild Swan Goose and they bare resemblance to a swan especially when they are swimming. The knob at the top of the beak is more prominent on males than females. By 6–8 weeks of age, the knob is already pronounced enough that it can be used for sexing. Chinese geese comes in two colors brown and white. They have a somewhat aggressive disposition and will honk in response to unknown people or animals, which make them excellent "watch dogs". They are probably the best egg laying geese and they weigh 10-12 pounds at 5 month old.
